ID & Birth Certificate Replacement Program

ID And Birth Certificate Services

Missoula County receives support through the National Association of Counties’ (NACo) Live Healthy Program and the Community Assistance Fund to assist low- and moderate-income individuals with the cost of an identification card, birth certificate, and/or driver license. These forms of identification are necessary to obtain housing, employment, and critical services and benefits.

Missoula County partners with the Human Resource Council and Watershed Navigation Center to provide these services.

If you live in Missoula County and need help with acquiring identification cards or documentation:

History

  • 2006: Missoula County partnered with the National Association of Counties (NACo) and CVS Caremark on the Prescription Discount Card Program, which provides discounts on prescription medication for uninsured and underinsured county residents. Missoula County receives $1 every time a prescription discount card is used at a participating pharmacy and the funds generated can be used at the discretion of the County.
  • 2007: Revenue from the program is used to support the costs of IDs, driver’s licenses, and birth certificates at Project Community Connect Events.
  • 2021 to 2025: Due to decline in revenue, new funding sources were needed to support the program. Funding from the American Rescue Plan Act and the Community Assistance Fund was secured to allow the program to continue.
