Legal systems everywhere face complex challenges that can lead to delays, higher caseloads, and added strain on individuals, families, and communities. Justice Initiatives Coordinators work with criminal legal and community partners in both Missoula and Mineral* Counties to identify these challenges and develop collaborative, data-informed solutions. Through strong partnerships, training, multidisciplinary teams, and coordinated information-sharing, we help improve how the local justice system functions.

Our division provides research and analysis, program development, grant management, project implementation, and specialized training to support multi‑agency efforts addressing emerging community needs. We listen closely to partners, service providers, and people who are justice‑involved—including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, individuals on pretrial supervision, and people returning to the community from detention, the Department of Corrections, or the state hospital—so we can strengthen support and promote safer outcomes for all.
