Public Meetings
The Missoula Board of County Commissioners conduct three types of regular meetings: public hearing meetings, administrative meetings and department updates. Because a quorum is present (e.g., at least two of the three Commissioners are present), these meetings are open to the public. Discussions of litigation strategy or personnel matters are two noteworthy exceptions.
An item must have two out of three votes to pass, unless it is an item asking whether to place a question on the ballot, in which case the vote needs to be unanimous consensus, with all three voting “yes” for the vote to pass. Agendas are a list of items for commission action or discussion. Agenda packets contain the documents and materials associated with each agenda item.
