County employees have access to wellness benefits that go beyond the health insurance plan.

Alternative medicine services apply towards your deductible under the Missoula County Employee Benefits Plan. Covered expenses are paid at 70% of the maximum allowance (up to $750 per benefit year). Covered services include:

• Acupuncture
• Biofeedback/neurofeedback
• Body talk
• Compound pharmaceuticals from a licensed pharmacist when not covered by pharmacy benefit
• Massage therapy
• Phototherapy boxes
• Portable air cleaners (maximum of one per plan year), excludes supplies such as filters
• Rolfing therapy
• Weight loss program overseen by a medical professional with a maximum of one program per plan year.

The Uprise Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential advice, support, therapy, and practical solutions to real-life issues including work stress, interpersonal workplace issues, family caregiving problems, burnout, depression and anxiety, and budget or financial issues.  

County employees receive one free health screening per year through It Starts with Me. The screening includes a complete blood count, a comprehensive metabolic panel, a lipid panel, vitamin D measurement, blood pressure and other vital signs, and more. Additional tests may be added for a fee.
