Snowplow Routes Available Online
Posted on December 09, 2025
When it snows, the road crew at Missoula County Public Works begins plowing roads on weekdays outside city limits between 5 and 6 a.m., with the goal of having school bus routes cleared first. Click here to see priority snowplow routes.
Missoula County maintains more than 400 miles of roads, ranging from one lane gravel roads in very rural areas to urban streets with curbs, gutters, parking lanes and sidewalks. All maintenance activities are based out of two locations – one outside of Missoula near the Wye, and one in Seeley Lake.
Remember that while Missoula County Public Works is responsible for plowing roads throughout of the county, the City of Missoula plows within city limits. The Montana Department of Transportation plows highways like U.S. 93 and I-90.
