Missoula Children's Theatre

Missoula County partnered with the Missoula Children’s Theatre to obtain $525,000 in Community Development Block Grant – Economic Development funding through the State of Montana to retain 15 full-time equivalent low- and moderate-income jobs by creating a safe, healthy and sustainable building. The project includes replacing a deteriorating roof and installing rooftop solar panels. Facility improvements are necessary to ensure the community theatre can continue to provide culturally enriching programming for children and adults locally and worldwide.

Missoula County applied for and was awarded a $26,250 CDBG Planning Grant from the Montana Department of Commerce on behalf of Seeley Lake Elementary. The school needs structural rehabilitation to improve health, safety and energy efficiency. The County will procure an architectural firm to prepare a Preliminary Architectural Report that examines all alternatives related to rehabilitating and improving the building. This project is essential to allow the school to continue serving Seeley Lake children and families with education, healthy meals and access to the only community-wide food bank, which is housed at the school.

Missoula County is working with the recently formed Resident-owned Community at Old Hellgate Village to fund a wastewater system improvement project. Old Hellgate Village is a manufactured home community at 6125 Mullan Road in Missoula.

The county successfully secured a planning grant from the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation to cover the costs of a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER). WGM Group received the contract for the PER and has completed the planning document, a requirement for securing project funding.
