Need Grant Funding?
Missoula County receives numerous requests for grant-writing assistance from community partners and agencies. Due to the community need and GCR’s limited capacity, partners seeking assistance are asked to complete a pre-application process to determine if a proposed project is a good fit for a potential funding opportunity.
Proposal pre-application
The Grants and Community Resources Department facilitates an annual pre-application process starting in late spring/early summer. This process allows GCR to identify shovel-ready projects and to match those with appropriate funding opportunities.
Community Block Development Grant (CDBG)
Following the pre-application process, GCR considers applying for CDBG funding through the Montana Department of Commerce. The county can apply for one grant per funding category.
The CDBG Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development supports eligible community development projects. Activities may address needs such as infrastructure, economic development, community facilities, housing development and housing rehabilitation. CDBG funding must benefit low- to moderate-income individuals and communities. Click here to learn more about the CDBG program.
Missoula County could be eligible to apply for the following CDGB programs:
